Life changing. I feel like I've never picked a hoof properly until now. With this tool and a little copper sulfate, my horses' feet have never been so healthy. Highly recommend! Sharp blades, and handy hole punch too. Pro tip: bot knife makes a GREAT small area shedding tool.

I've had this knife 30+ years

My grandad was a farrier and gave me this knife when I was a kid. I'm 46 years old now, so I figure I've had it at least 30 years. Found it in an old box and was looking for a sheath and was surprised to find the actual knife on Amazon. Granted, I haven't used this knife for a LONG time, but I carried it a lot when I was a kid and riding a lot. My son and I have recently gotten back into riding and I'm going to give it to him. I'm only giving the knife 4 stars because I haven't used it a ton. After 30 years, everything is still tight. The wood and brass are in good shape, and there appears to be nothing wrong with the knife. All the tools you need for a small job, picking rocks or mud out of hooves, punching holes in leather... I wouldn't try to trim a horses hoof with this thing, but I'm confident it'll get you by in an emergency situation.

We’ll made, good size and the tools I need

Fits perfectly in the Western Traditions Ribbon Knife Sheath offered here … snug fit. The hoof pic is a bit small, but for something on your hip when out working from your saddle, it’s certainly adequate. If tool was bigger, I wouldn’t like it, so perfect horseman’s combo tool for me. Quality is excellent.

Piece of junk

Used this for the first time when I noticed a loose bar under my horses hoof. The hoof knife folded back around the handle like a cheap piece of Chinese made trash and pinched my finger.
